Thomas Tuchel has provided updates on the fitness of his Chelsea squad ahead of the club’s trip to face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
Chelsea travel to face Aston Villa looking to secure a win that will guarantee the Blues’ place in the Champions League for next season, Tuchel’s side currently third with both Liverpool and Leicester just a point behind ahead of this weekend’s final day fixtures.
The west London side will be boosted by the returns from injury of both Andreas Christensen and Kai Havertz at Villa Park, with Tuchel confirming both players should be available for selection.
N’Golo Kante remains a doubt for the fixture, however, though the German is confident the midfielder will return to training by Monday as Chelsea prepare to face Manchester City in the Champions League final on May 29.
“Andreas Christensen will be in the squad,” said Tuchel at his pre-match press conference. “He did full training today and also yesterday without any problems so he will be back.
“Kai Havertz did a test today and will be in team training tomorrow.
“With N’Golo, it’s going to be very close but still some hopes that he maybe joins team training tomorrow. If not, then he will join on Monday.”
