How We Make Our Europa League Predictions
Good Europa League predictions start with data, not gut feeling. Each tip on The Football Faithful goes through the same five-step process before it’s published.
- Form and underlying numbers. We look past results to expected goals (xG), shots on target and chances conceded, in both domestic and European games.
- Home and away splits. Long Thursday-night trips across Europe change how teams play, so we treat home and away form as separate datasets.
- Team news. Injuries, suspensions and rotation between Thursday nights and Sunday league games can shift a match more than any stat.
- Context. League-phase position, the race for the top eight, two-legged tie scenarios and how much each club values the competition all feed into the final call.
- Odds and value. We compare our estimated probability with the bookmaker’s implied probability. We only publish a tip when we believe the price offers value.
Our Europa League predictions are written by our specialist tipsters with years of experience covering European football.
Football Predictions by League
Every league has its own rhythm, so we tailor our football tips to each competition. Choose a league below for dedicated predictions, stats and previews.
Premier League predictions
The Premier League is the most bet-on league in the world, and one of the hardest to call. Arsenal won the 2025/26 title, and the season averaged 2.75 goals per game. Tight mid-table matches and a strong home crowd factor make draw and BTTS markets worth a close look.
Champions League predictions
From the league phase to the final, we cover every Champions League night. Expect previews built around squad rotation, travel and the gap in quality between Europe’s elite and the rest.
LaLiga predictions
Barcelona took the 2025/26 LaLiga crown with 94 points, in a season averaging 2.69 goals per match. Outside the top three, LaLiga games are often tactical and low-scoring, which makes under markets a regular feature of our tips.
Serie A predictions
Serie A was the lowest-scoring of Europe’s big five in 2025/26 at 2.43 goals per game, with Inter lifting the title. Defensive organisation is still king in Italy, so our Serie A predictions lean on unders, draws and “win to nil” angles.
Bundesliga predictions
The Bundesliga is the goals league. It averaged 3.24 goals per match in 2025/26, while champions Bayern Munich scored a record 122 league goals. Over 2.5 goals and BTTS are our most common Bundesliga tips.
Ligue 1 predictions
PSG won a fifth straight Ligue 1 title in 2025/26, in a season averaging 2.82 goals per game. Beyond Paris, the league is wide open, so handicap and double chance markets often give better value than the straight win.
EFL and other leagues
We also publish predictions for the Championship, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, League One, League Two, the Scottish Premiership, Eredivisie, Liga Portugal, the Conference League and major international tournaments.
Europa League Betting Statistics: What the Numbers Say
The best Europa League predictions are built on base rates and on the competition’s format, which changes how several markets settle. Use the figures below as a starting point, then adjust for the teams in front of you.
Match result (1X2) and to qualify predictions
In the league phase, each of the 36 clubs plays eight games and draws stand as draws. The top eight go straight to the last 16, while sides ranked 9th to 24th meet in a knockout play-off round. From then on, ties are played over two legs, with extra time and penalties if they are level on aggregate, and the final is a single match.
- 1X2 settles on 90 minutes. In a knockout tie, a draw on the night still wins a draw bet, even if one team goes through.
- To qualify covers the whole tie, including extra time and penalties, which suits favourites over two legs.
- Draw no bet protects your stake when you back a favourite on a long away trip in the league phase.
Both teams to score (BTTS) predictions
BTTS is one of the most popular Europa League betting markets, because rotated line-ups and uneven match-ups often produce open games.
- Back BTTS – Yes when two attacking sides meet, or when a favourite rotates heavily before a big league game.
- Look at BTTS – No when a strong favourite hosts a side that rarely scores away from home in Europe.
- BTTS and over 2.5 pays bigger odds and suits league-phase games between two attacking teams.
Over/under goals predictions
The 2025/26 Europa League produced 512 goals in 189 matches, an average of 2.71 per game. That is close to the Premier League and LaLiga averages for the same season, and well below the Champions League.
- Over 1.5 goals is a solid base when a favourite meets a weaker league-phase opponent.
- Over 2.5 goals works best when both teams press high and concede chances.
- Under 2.5 goals is worth considering in knockout first legs and in games between two defensive sides.
Corners and cards predictions
Corner counts rise when a favourite dominates possession against a low block, a common pattern when bigger clubs face smaller league-phase opponents. Card markets depend heavily on the referee and on the stakes of the tie, so check the referee’s average bookings before backing over cards.
How to spot value: implied probability
Odds tell you how likely the bookmaker thinks an outcome is. Convert decimal odds to implied probability with this formula:
Implied probability = (1 ÷ decimal odds) × 100
Example: odds of 2.00 on over 2.5 goals imply a 50% chance. If the stats suggest the game goes over 60% of the time, that price offers value. If they suggest 45%, skip it, however good the tip sounds.
How to Use Europa League Predictions to Bet Smarter
No tipster wins every bet. The goal is to make better decisions across the whole competition, not to find a sure thing. These habits help you get the most from our Europa League predictions.
- Compare odds. The same tip can be priced at 1.85 with one bookmaker and 2.00 with another. Over a season, that gap decides whether you profit.
- Know which market you are backing. Check whether a bet settles on 90 minutes or covers the whole tie before you place it.
- Keep singles at the core. A Thursday-night acca is tempting, but every extra leg multiplies the bookmaker’s margin. Use accas for small stakes only.
- Check team news before kick-off. Line-ups are confirmed about an hour before the game, and rotation ahead of a weekend league match can change a prediction completely.
- Use a staking plan. Bet a fixed percentage of your bankroll (for example 1–2%) per tip, and never chase losses.
- Track your results. Record every bet, the odds and the market, so you can see where you actually make money.
