Gary Speed was a top class box-to-box midfielder who made a whopping 535 Premier League appearances during spells with Leeds, Everton, Newcastle, Bolton, and Sheffield United.
He became Wales manager after his retirement, but tragically took his own life in 2011 at the age of just 42. RIP to a true Premier League legend.
Paul Scholes – 107 goals
Scholes is probably the most technically gifted footballer of his generation. He enjoyed a glittering career with his one and only club Manchester United, winning a monstrous 11 Premier League titles and two Champions Leagues.

Ryan Giggs – 109 goals
Giggs record of winning 13 Premier League titles and making 963 appearances for Manchester United will surely never be matched.
He played his entire career under the tutelage of the Red Devil’s legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Giggsy began his career as a flying left-winger before converting to a classy central midfielder operator later in his career, and also ranks as the Premier League’s highest assist maker ever which is a testament to what a top all-round player he was.
Steven Gerrard – 120 goals
Gerrard is another one club man who spent his entire career playing for his beloved Liverpool.
The former England captain was often compared to Roy of the Rovers for his ability to drag his side to victory, and score match defining goals.

Frank Lampard – 177 goals
Frank Lampard actually ranks fourth in the list of overall Premier League goal scorers, which is an astonishing achievement considering he played in central midfield for his entire career.
Debate has raged for years about who was the best central midfielder in Premier League history; Lampard, Gerrard or Scholes, although purely based on goals and assists the former Chelsea man eclipses everybody else.
