Barcelona has been home to some iconic Brazilian footballers throughout their long history, with the brilliant Rivaldo amongst the very best.
Rivaldo arrived from Deportivo La Coruna following three disappointing seasons for the Catalans during the late nineties, with his impact helping a disgruntled Barcelona fanbase get over the exit of compatriot Ronaldo.
Rivaldo proved the inspirational figurehead behind an often mediocre and dysfunctional side, winning back-to-back league titles with the forward named as winner of the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year accolades in 1999.
He scored over a century of goals for the Catalan club across five seasons at the Camp Nou, many of them spectacular as Rivaldo often drifted inside from a position on the left to devastating effect.
Full of feints, step-overs and trademark Brazilian flair, his time with the club was the best of an unforgettable career with Rivaldo having left a lasting legacy at one of Spain’s greatest clubs.
Here are Rivaldo’s most iconic moments at Barcelona.
