The greatest goalscorer in the history of Barcelona, Argentina and Spanish football, it is unlikely we are going to again witness a footballer who has set standards previously deemed unreachable to mere mortals.

Rarely – if ever – has a player beaten opponents quite so easily with the ball at his feet, Messi possessing unrivalled natural balance and the ability to effortless breeze beyond challenges to leave defenders in his wake.
