John Hartson says Arsenal are getting ‘a fine player’ in Celtic full-back Kieran Tierney.
Arsenal have agreed a fee with the Scottish champions for the 22-year-old, having pursued a deal for the left-back throughout the summer.
The Scotland international is now set to finalise a move to the Emirates before today’s 5pm deadline, with Tierney set to become the club’s fifth signing of the transfer window.
Tierney came through the ranks at Celtic and has won five titles with the club, whilst he was also named PFA Scotland’s Young Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons between 2016 and 2018.
Former Arsenal and Celtic forward Hartson was full of praise for Tierney, and believes the North London side are acquiring ‘a fine player’.
“Arsenal are getting a fine player, a wonderfully grounded boy, [who has] been brought up in humble surroundings,” Hartson wrote on twitter.
“I can only wish Kieran Tierney a great career.
“Been brilliant for Celtic. Good luck mate.”
