Edgar Davids: Best bits for Juventus

Edgar Davids remains one of the most memorable midfielders of the nineties and early 2000s, with his distinctive dreadlocks and orange goggles unmissable throughout his career.

More than just his unique appearance however, Davids was a fantastic footballer who enjoyed huge success playing for some of Europe’s leading clubs, coming through the fabled academy system at Ajax before winning the Champions League and league title.

He had spells with both Milan clubs, Barcelona and Tottenham during his career, but his best years came arguably as the driving force of a Juventus midfield.

Davids famed tenacity and combative streak was mixed with a creative flair and skill in possession, with the midfielder nicknamed ‘The Pitbull’ by former Ajax manager Louis van Gaal for his aggression in the engine room.

He made 243 appearances and won three league titles during his time in Turin, starring alongside names such as Zinedine Zidane and Pavel Nedved and reaching two Champions League finals with the Bianconeri.
