Burnley boss Sean Dyche has praised Dwight McNeil after the teenager scored in their 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.
Conor Coady’s own goal had put Burnley in front at Turf Moor, before winger McNeil netted a second to seal a vital win for Dyche’s side.
The 19-year-old has impressed since establishing himself in the first team at Turf Moor, earning his first call-up to the England U-20 side during the international break, and Dyche was full of praise for the youngster’s contribution.
“Dwight has got real quality and he has shown that again with a goal and an assist,’’ Dyche told the BBC.
“He is 19 and delivering in the Premier League. He’s certainly laid down a marker. He will be aware of some of the basics he still has to learn but I’m enjoying what he is doing.”
“It’s just another marker after a tough run. We have got 21 points since Christmas – that’s a healthy return. That should leave us in good confidence. We looked organised and were doing all the ugly bits very well.”
