Real Madrid are monitoring Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister amid the midfielder’s contract stand-off at Anfield.
Mac Allister’s current contract expires in 2028 and there have been no negotiations over an extension. Earlier this year, Mac Allister expressed his disappointment at Liverpool’s failure to start talks, with new deals handed to fellow midfielders Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai.
According to Sky Germany, Real Madrid are watching the situation. Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of the Argentina international with the Spanish side seeking a deep-lying midfielder.
Real Madrid had tracked Enzo Fernandez before his move to Manchester City from Chelsea in the summer and also targeted Rodri, before the latter’s decision to sign for Barcelona from City.
Mac Allister’s tenacity and comfortability on the ball are appreciated at the Bernabeu, though Liverpool are expected to resist any approaches. The sale of Curtis Jones to Inter Milan has left Liverpool light in central midfield, despite Trey Nyoni’s integration into the senior side.
Mac Allister has started the season in fine form under Andoni Iraola, with the Reds ready to review his situation at the end of the campaign.
