Arsenal are preparing a mass overhaul of their squad this summer with five first-team regulars expected to leave the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta is planning major changes to his squad following a disappointing first full season in charge, the Gunners currently ninth in the Premier League with just three games remaining and set to miss out on European qualification.
Arsenal will attempt to raise funds with the sales of several stars and a number of regulars could be amongst the names to depart, the Guardian reporting that Hector Bellerin is among the senior names set to leave the club.
Bellerin has been with the club for a decade since signing from Barcelona as a teenager, but has fallen out of favour in recent weeks and has indicated he is keen on a new challenge.
Bernd Leno and Granit Xhaka could leave this summer with both players having shown no signs of wanting to negotiate extensions to their current deals, the duo having two years remaining on their respective contracts and will be allowed to leave if suitable offers are made.
Arsenal’s need to trim their wage bill is also set to see David Luiz on a free transfer at the end of the season, whilst uncertainty continues to surround the future of Alexandre Lacazette who enters the final year of his contract.
The 29-year-old is the Gunners’ leading scorer with 17 goals in all competitions this season and the north Londoners will want his future decided quickly in a bid to avoid another precarious contract situation.
Loanees Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi and Ainsley Maitland-Niles could also be sold with mass change anticipated, whilst Eddie Nketiah is another who could raise funds with the 21-year-old attracting Premier League interest and entering the final year of his deal this summer.
