Jude Bellingham’s stunning start at Real Madrid continued this weekend with a last-gasp winner in El Clásico, with the midfielder’s goal sending his team 11 points clear at the top of La Liga.
Bellingham has now scored stoppage-time deciders in both El Clásico games in La Liga this season, an incredible achievement for the 20-year-old in his debut campaign at the Bernabeu.

Laurie Cunningham – Real Madrid
Laurie Cunningham paved a path for British footballers at Spain’s superpowers after signing for Real Madrid from West Bromwich Albion in 1979.
The winger became the first-ever Briton to sign for Real Madrid and made 66 appearances for Los Blancos across three seasons, scoring 20 times. He marked his El Clásico debut with a goal in a thrilling 3-2 win for Real Madrid during his first season, scoring the winner as the two rivals shared five first-half goals.
Cunningham won La Liga and two Copa del Rey trophies at Real Madrid before joining Marseille, having spent time on loan at Manchester United and Sporting Gijon after falling out of favour.
Gary Lineker – Barcelona
Gary Lineker is the only Englishman to have scored an El Clásico goal for Barcelona and the only player from these shores to have scored a hat-trick in this fixture.
Lineker signed for Barcelona from Everton after winning the Golden Boot at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico and scored 52 goals in 138 appearances for the Catalans.
His most memorable moment came in a 3-2 win over Real Madrid, as Lineker scored all three goals in an end-to-end Clásico contest.

Lineker scored five times in eight appearances against Real Madrid, during a Barcelona career that saw the forward win the Copa del Rey and European Cup Winners’ Cup. He was the highest-scoring British player in La Liga history (42) until being surpassed by Gareth Bale.
Steve McManaman – Real Madrid
‘El Macca’ became a fan favourite at Real Madrid after signing from Liverpool on a free transfer, with the midfielder establishing himself as one of Britain’s best football exports.
McManaman featured alongside the Galacticos of the early noughties and won La Liga and the UEFA Champions League twice, scoring in the latter final win over Valencia in 2000.
He became the first Englishman to win the Champions League with a non-English club after that success, before lifting the trophy a second time in 2002. His only El Clásico goal came in a semi-final between the teams en route to that triumph, scoring the second in a 2-0 win with a chipped finish over Roberto Bonano in the first leg at the Camp Nou.
Incredibly, he never lost a Clásico in seven appearances against Barcelona.

Michael Owen – Real Madrid
Michael Owen’s spell in Spanish football was a brief affair as the forward spent just one season at Real Madrid.
After arriving from Liverpool, Owen struggled to dislodge Raul and Ronaldo as the club’s first-choice frontmen but scored a respectable 16 goals from 26 starts across all competitions.

He scored the fourth goal in a 4-2 El Clásico win over Barcelona at the Bernabeu in April 2005 and it was an all-English connection as David Beckham sent his England teammate in on goal.
Owen ended the campaign with the division’s best minutes-per-goal ratio but signed for Newcastle that summer in search of a more regular role.
