10. Bayern Munich – 81 trophies
Germany’s most successful club and a giant of the European game, Bayern Munich have won 81 trophies during an illustrious history.
The Bundesliga behemoth are six-time European champions, winning three in succession between 1974 and 1976, and a further three triumphs in 2001, 2013 and 2020.
Bayern’s 33 league titles is comfortably a German record, including an unprecedented run of dominance that has seen the Bavarians win 11 in a row from 2013.
9. Al-Faisley – 81
Al-Faisaly have secured 81 honours, including 35 Jordanian league titles, and are the nation’s most successful club. The Blue Eagles are also two-time winners of the AFC Cup, winning back-to-back titles in 2005 and 2006.
8. Benfica – 84
Benfica are one of Portugal’s ‘Big Three’ and the most successful club in Primeira Liga history.
Their 38 league titles put them ahead of Porto (30) and Sporting Lisbon (19), with that trio having won all but two Portuguese league titles with only Belenenses (1945โ46) and Boavista (2000โ01) having disrupted that dominance.
Benfica won back-to-back European Cups in 1961 and 1962.
7. Barcelona – 93
Barcelona can count 93 honours and trophies among their extensive list of silverware, with the Catalan giants one of world football’s biggest clubs.
Their collection includes 27 La Liga, 31 Copa del Rey, and five Champions League trophies, with the Spaniards having won continental trebles in 2008/09 and 2014/15.
Home to some of the greatest players of all time, the 12 Ballon d’Or wins by Barcelona players are a joint record, alongside El Clรกsico rivals Real Madrid.
6. Real Madrid – 101
Real Madrid edge out their eternal rivals as Spanish football’s supreme force, having collected 101 trophies and honours.
Los Blancos have been crowned La Liga champions a record 36 times, while their 15 Champions League wins is also a record and more than twice the number of AC Milan (7), who sit second for European crowns.
Real Madrid won the first five editions of the European Cup in the 1950s and have built an incredible legacy in the competition, including eight coronations as European champions since 2000.
5. Atletico Penarol – 113
One of two dominant forces in Uruguayan football to have never been relegated, the Montevideo-based side has won 52 national titles during their existence.
Only two teams, Argentina’s Independiente and Boca Juniors, have won the Copa Libertadores on more occasions than Penarol, though the most recent of the club’s five triumphs came in 1987.
4. Celtic – 116
Celtic sit fourth for trophies and honours won, having been part of an Old Firm duopoly of Scottish football.
Celtic and Glasgow rivals Rangers have won every Scottish top-flight title since 1985 between them, while only 19 of the 128 titles won have gone to clubs outside that duo. The former have won 54 titles, including 12 of the last 13, and are closing in on Rangers’ record of 55.
Celtic were also the first British team to win the European Cup, after beating Inter Milan in 1967.
3. Club Nacional – 117
Club Nacional are Uruguay and South America’s most successful club with 117 honours won.
Like fierce rivals Penarol, Nacional have never been relegated from Uruguay’s top division and clashes between the two Montevideo outfits are dubbed the Clรกsico del fรบtbol uruguayo.
Nacional are three-time winners of the Copa Libertadores.
2. Rangers – 118
Rangers edge out Old Firm rivals Celtic as the most decorated European club in the game.
The Gers have won a record-breaking 55 Scottish league titles, 34 Scottish Cups and 28 Scottish League Cups, alongside continental success with the 1972 European Cup Winners’ Cup.
Their most recent UEFA final came with a defeat in the 2022 Europa League decider to Eintracht Frankfurt.
1. Al Ahly – 125
Al Ahly are the most successful club in world football with 125 honours and trophies.
The Egyptian side has won 44 league titles and a record-breaking 12 CAF Champions League crowns.
No other side has won more than five continental titles, with the Cairo powerhouse having claimed six of the last eight, including last season’s after beating ES Tunis 1-0 on aggregate in the 2024 final.
