Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is still keen on a summer move for Paul Pogba, despite the midfielder’s disappointing performance in Manchester United’s Champions League exit to Barcelona.
Real are set to invest significantly in their squad this summer, and Zidane is believed to have targeted compatriot Pogba as he plans an overhaul at the Bernabeu.
Manchester United were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Barcelona, losing 4-0 on aggregate, and Pogba was anonymous in Tuesday night’s 3-0 loss at the Nou Camp.
According to The Sun Pogba’s performance has not deterred Zidane, who is keen on a deal for the 26-year-old as one of his top two summer targets.
Zidane is a huge fan of the French World Cup winner, and wants Pogba to be his number eight as he looks to revitalise an ageing midfield.
Alongside Pogba, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard remains a priority for the Spanish giants who will table an opening offer of £85m for the Belgian international.
The 28-year old’s contract expires in 2020, and Chelsea are thought to be resigned to losing the talismanic winger this summer.
