Thomas Tuchel says he is ‘grateful’ after being named as the Premier League’s Manager of the Month for March and says he is looking forward finishing the season strongly with Chelsea.
Tuchel has made an impressive start to his reign at Stamford Bridge with the club unbeaten in 14 fixtures across all competitions since his arrival in January, the German acknowledged as the division’s Manager of the Month after securing victories over both Liverpool and Everton.
Chelsea’s goalless draw at Leeds ensured the west Londoners completed the month undefeated and Tuchel admits he is delighted to have seen his side’s fine performances rewarded.
“I’m grateful to receive an award like this and it means I am at the right club.” Tuchel told his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s clash with West Brom.
“I see it as a team award. It feels good. It’s not the end of the road we’re still competing in April and May and we want to produce.”
Chelsea currently sit fourth in the Premier League ahead of this weekend’s clash with West Brom, with the Blues in a strong position to secure Champions League qualification.
Tuchel revealed he has almost a full compliment of players to choose from, with the exception of N’Golo Kante after the midfielder picked up a hamstring injury whilst on international duty with France.
“Everybody was in training today, except N’Golo Kante who was doing individual work. Everybody else was out on the pitch and that’s good news.”
