The Premier League players with the most chances created this season

Centre-forwards need service and these Premier League stars have been the division’s finest when it comes to creating chances in 2023/24.

From set-piece experts to inventors capable of splitting defences with penetrative passes, we’ve looked at the Premier League players who lead the way for chances created this season.

Andreas Pereira – Fulham (80)

After bouncing around a number of clubs on loan while at Manchester United, Andreas Pereira has found a home at Fulham.

The 28-year-old never quite made the grade at Manchester United in over a decade on the club’s books, but has become an integral part of the Fulham side under Marco Silva. Having signed in a £10m deal following the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2022, Pereira was directly involved in 10 goals as the Cottagers secured their top-flight status for another season.

Pereira has already matched that total this time around, scoring three times and providing seven assists. His 80 chances created rank fifth in the division, ahead Kieran Trippier, Mohamed Salah and Phil Foden, among others. His form has led to a recall to the Brazil squad, six years after his 2018 debut.

Bukayo Saka – Arsenal (82)

Arsenal’s homegrown hero continues to enhance his reputation as one of Europe’s leading wide players. After winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award last season, Saka has starred as Mikel Arteta’s team have taken another tilt at title success.

The 22-year-old is closing in on reaching 10+ goals and 10+ assists for the second successive Premier League season, while he impressed during a maiden Champions League campaign with eight goal involvements in nine games as Arsenal reached the quarter-finals.

Pascal Gross – Brighton (90)

Pascal Gross has done his utmost to uphold stereotypes surrounding German efficiency in recent seasons.

The Brighton midfielder has been a gem of a signing for a Seagulls side with no shortage of brilliant acquisitions of late. Signed for just £3m from Ingolstadt in 2018, he has since racked up 45 league assists for Brighton including a career-best 10 in the Premier League this season – only Ollie Watkins has more.

At 32, a perennially underrated talent has broken into the German national side, for who he will hope to feature as Julian Nagelsmann’s side compete in a European Championship on home soil this summer.

Martin Odegaard – Arsenal (91)

Arsenal’s second inclusion on this list, captain Martin Odegaard has led by example when it comes to chance creation this season.

The Norwegian often sets the tone for Arsenal in and out of possession, leading the press, and offering world-class quality on the ball. This season, the 24-year-old leads Europe’s top five leagues for open-play chances created (78), through balls (34), successful through balls (13), and passes into the penalty area (162).

His immense influence on Arsenal might just end up with Premier League title success.

Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United (99)

Bruno Fernandes polarises opinion, that is no secret, but what can’t be knocked is the sheer volume of his numbers.

Even in a campaign that will be judged as mediocre at best for Manchester United, the club captain has led his contemporaries for chances created. Fernandes has created 99 chances in the Premier League this season, and 140 in all competitions.

No player in Europe’s top five leagues has managed more, with the Portugal international having carved out a whopping 18 goalscoring opportunities in his last two fixtures alone.

Just imagine if he had a consistent forward line to feed…
