Ranking the five fastest players to 150 Premier League goal involvements

Mohamed Salah has began the Premier League season in sensational form, with the Liverpool forward currently leading the division for both goals and assists.

Salah has failed to provide a goal or assist in just one league fixture so far this season, having amassed a staggering 19 goal involvements from just 13 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

The Egyptian’s assist in the 2-0 win over Southampton also saw him reach 150 goal involvements in the Premier League, and we’ve decided to look at the five fastest players to have achieved the feat.

Here are the five fastest players to reach 150 Premier League goal involvements.

Harry Kane – 191 games

Harry Kane reached the milestone after just 191 games in the division, having burst onto the scene during the 2014/15 season after a handful of appearances for Tottenham the previous campaign.

Kane scored 21 league goals during that breakthrough season and netted 20+ for four consecutive campaigns, winning the Premier League’s Golden Boot in both 2015/16 and 2016/17.

The England captain is the fifth-fastest player to reach 150 goals and assists in the Premier League, whilst he is the third-quickest to have scored 150 goals, reaching the landmark in just 218 top-flight games.

Kane is also one of just two players – alongside Andy Cole and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – to have led the league for both goals and assists in a single season, having achieved the feat during the 2020/21 campaign.

Sergio Aguero – 181 games

Sergio Aguero reached 150 goal involvements in 10 games fewer than Kane, reaching the figure after 181 appearances in the Premier League for Manchester City.

Aguero’s impact at the Etihad was instant as he scored twice and provided an assist on debut against Swansea City, with his first season ending with 23 goals and eight assists as City won the Premier League title for the first time.

It was the Argentine’s goal that snatched the title on the final day of the season against Queens Park Rangers to end a debut campaign that proved the start of a record-breaking career with the club.

Aguero scored a club-record 260 goals in all competitions across a decade with City, whilst he departed last summer as the highest-scoring overseas player in Premier League history after netting 184 times in England’s top division.

Mohamed Salah – 171 games

Salah reached 150 goal involvements with an assist in Liverpool’s win over Southampton, teeing up Diogo Jota for his eighth Premier League assist of the campaign.

The Egyptian international has 11 goals and eight assists from just 13 appearances this season, the latter total just two short of equalling his Premier League best for a campaign – having provided 10 assists in both 2017/18 and 2019/20.

Salah’s numbers since returning to the Premier League at Liverpool have been outstanding, including breaking the goal record with a 32-goal season during his first campaign at Anfield.

Since a disappointing spell at Chelsea, the 29-year-old has developed into one of the most effective wide forwards in world football on Merseyside, reaching 150 goal involvements (108 goals and 42 assists) in just 171 league games.

He currently leads the race for the Premier League’s Golden Boot, as he bids to join Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry and Harry Kane as the only players to have won three or more leading scorer accolades.

Thierry Henry – 163 games

Thierry Henry ranks second as the fastest footballer to 150 goal involvements in the Premier League, taking just 163 games to achieve the feat at Arsenal.

Signed from Juventus following an indifferent spell in Turin, the Frenchman was transformed into the Premier League’s best centre-forward across eight seasons in north London, winning a divisional record of four Golden Boots.

Henry became the Gunners’ all-time record scorer with 228 goals in all competitions, whilst he also holds the joint-record for most assists in a Premier League season after registering 20 in 2002/03 – a feat matched by Kevin De Bruyne in 2019/20.

That season saw Henry amass 24 goals and 20 assists in the division, with only Lionel Messi (2019/20) having since matched the forward’s achievement in reaching 20+ for each metric in one of Europe’s top five leagues.

Alan Shearer – 148 games

Alan Shearer holds the record for fastest footballer to 150 goal involvements in the Premier League, averaging better than a goal involvement-per-game during an electric start to his Blackburn career.

Signed in a record-breaking deal ahead of the division’s inaugural season, Shearer scored 16 goals and provided four assists in just 21 games for Blackburn, before seeing his season ended after sustaining a serious knee injury in December.

The forward returned in spectacular form to score 30+ goals in three consecutive campaigns and remains the only player in Premier League history to have reached that goalscoring landmark in multiple seasons.

Shearer’s four-season spell with Blackburn saw him score 112 goals and provide 25 assists in just 137 appearances, before reaching 150 goal involvements following a £15m world-record move to Newcastle in 1996.

He spent the next decade with his boyhood side, establishing himself as both the Premier League’s and Magpies’ record goalscorer.
