Nabil Fekir has emerged as Chelsea’s number one transfer target.
The Lyon captain, who was on the verge of signing for Liverpool last summer, has been personally contacted by Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri as he looks to land the French World Cup winner in a £50m deal.
According to SportWitness the Chelsea manager has personally contacted the playmaker in a bid to steal a march on the competition, with German champions Bayern Munich also reportedly eyeing an approach.
The 25-year-old starred in Ligue 1 last season, scoring 18 league goals as Lyon secured qualification for the Champions League.
Fekir was then part of France’s triumphant World Cup squad, coming on as substitute in the 4-2 final win over Croatia.
Despite boasting a wealth of options, Sarri is believed to be keen to add creativity and goals to his midfield and has identified Fekir as a top target. He hopes his personal contact can persuade the Frenchmen his future lies at Stamford Bridge.
