Celtic will aim to put their recent European setback behind them when they make the trip to Easter Road to take on Hibernian in Sunday’s Scottish Premiership clash.
The Hoops remain the dominant force at home, sitting comfortably at the top of the Scottish Premiership table. Under Martin O’Neill, Celtic have been in outstanding league form, winning 15 of their previous 16 domestic fixtures. They arrive on the back of a comfortable 2-0 victory against Motherwell, having previously dismantled Hearts 7-1. Their only recent stumble came in Europe, where they were beaten 2-1 by Celta Vigo in midweek.
Celtic team news
There is encouraging team news for the visitors, as O’Neill can call upon defensive regulars Cameron Carter-Vickers and Alistair Johnston once again. The pair have returned to full training and are in line to go straight back into the matchday group after their recent spells on the sidelines.
Celtic’s domestic squad is also boosted by the return of Jota, Landon Emenalo, and Shim Mheuka. All three were unavailable for the European meeting with Celta Vigo but are now eligible for selection in the league.
In addition, Callum Osmand is available, with O’Neill clarifying that his substitution in midweek was only precautionary after he suffered a cramp.
The main fitness worry for the league leaders is winger Yang Hyun-jun. He is still working his way back from a hamstring problem and remains a significant doubt for the early afternoon kickoff.
Celtic predicted lineup
Possible Celtic starting XI: Sinisalo; Donovan, Murray, Scales, Tierney; Baur, McGregor; Hassan, Nygren, Forrest; Duran
