Ronaldo Nazario was the perfect player to join Real Madrid’s Galactico revolution of the early 2000s, the forward have been amongst world football’s best talents since bursting onto the scene as a teenager.

Having returned from career-threatening knee injuries to inspire Brazil to World Cup success in 2002, Ronaldo completed a big-money move to the Bernabeu from Inter Milan and joined a stellar cast of names including Luis Figo, Raul and Zinedine Zidane.

O Fenomeno scored 30 goals in all competitions as Real Madrid were crowned Spanish champions during his debut season, including a scintillating hat-trick as Manchester United were beaten in the Champions League quarter-finals.

A second Ballon d’Or and third FIFA World Player of the Year accolade came following his exploits, with Ronaldo continue to fire over the following seasons with 104 goals in just 177 appearances for Los Blancos.
