Ranking the five favourites to sign Jude Bellingham

Jude Bellingham has emerged as one of the most coveted talents in world football, the midfielder having starred since signing for Borussia Dortmund in 2020.

Having burst onto the scene in the Championship at Birmingham City, the teenager followed the now well-trodden path in heading abroad to further his development and was named as the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Year in 2020/21.

The 18-year-old has broken into the England squad since his move to Germany and has earned 10 caps for the Three Lions at senior level, with a whole host of Premier League sides reportedly interested in bringing the midfielder back to English football.

We’ve decided to look at how the bookmakers assess his future, here are the five favourites to sign Jude Bellingham. If you have a desire you can also take a look at the latest gambling odds at https://top10casinosguide.com.

Arsenal – 12/1

Arsenal have been priced at odds of 12/1 to sign Bellingham from Dortmund, in a deal that would represent a huge coup for Mikel Arteta, Edu, and the club’s recruitment team.

Arteta has overseen an overhaul of the North London side in recent seasons, their transfers focused on talented youngsters with the potential to improve and develop at the Emirates.

The likes of Aaron Ramsdale, Martin Odegaard and Takehiro Tomiyasu have added to an exciting core containing academy products in Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe, as the Gunners look to build for the long-term and return to a status as Champions League regulars.

Arteta has indicated there will be several signings during the summer as Arsenal look to replenish a thin squad, having cast aside much of the club’s deadwood in recent windows.

Midfield remains an issue with Granit Xhaka’s future uncertain, whilst the depth beyond the Switzerland international and Thomas Partey is limited.

Arsenals’ hopes of tempting Bellingham to the capital could hinge on whether the club secure a top-four finish, the midfielder unlikely to leave Dortmund without a guarantee of Champions League football.

Manchester United – 7/1

Manchester United had wanted to sign Bellingham from Birmingham City in 2020, providing the teenager with a tour of the club’s training facilities before his decision to head to Dortmund.

Having missed out on his signing, the Red Devils could renew their interest following his rapid rise in the Bundesliga.

United could target at least two new midfielders during the summer transfer window, with a defensive midfielder having been a priority problem to address for some time.

Bellingham could prove a perfect replacement for Paul Pogba with the France international out of contract in the summer, whilst both Jesse Lingard and Donny van de Beek could also leave on permanent deals at the end of the season.

Prospective signings will want to know the Red Devils’ plans ahead of next season, however, with the club currently conducting their search for a new permanent manager.

Manchester City – 7/1

Manchester City are priced alongside their city rivals at odds of 7/1 to sign Bellingham, as the Premier League clubs begin to circle one of England’s best young talents.

City’s squad is stacked full of depth across the pitch, but with Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan both set to be 31 as next season begins – and Fernandinho expected to leave when his contract expires in the summer – midfield additions could be on the agenda

Guardiola was full of praise for the teenager following City’s meeting with Dortmund in the Champions League, a tie in which Bellingham scored.

“He’s so good for 17 years old [at the time of the quote], he’s a fantastic player. There was one moment when he didn’t get the ball from central defenders, how he shouts and demands that ball to him at 17 means a lot.

“I spoke with his manager, Edin [Terzic], and he told me what you see in these two games is like every training session.”

City continue to be linked with the signing of Bellingham’s club teammate, Erling Haaland, and it would be some statement if the Premier League champions could sanction the signing of both players in the same summer.

Whilst Haaland has a well-documented release clause of €75m, there is no such clause in Bellingham’s contract and reports have suggested Dortmund will demand a fee in excess of £100m.

Should Bellingham be seeking a virtual guarantee of silverware, however, there are few safer bets than a move to the Etihad at present.

Chelsea – 6/1

Chelsea are second-favourites to sign Bellingham from Dortmund, in a deal that would see the midfielder join England teammates Mason Mount, Reece James and Ben Chilwell at Stamford Bridge.

The west Londoners boast depth in midfield at present, but with both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante the wrong side of 30 the Blues could look to invest in the future.

Thomas Tuchel first faces decisions on the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Conor Gallagher, however, with the former having been reintroduced to the side this season and the latter flourishing on loan at Crystal Palace.

Chelsea’s focus could be on defensive additions with a host of senior names out of contract this summer, though the Blues are one of Europe’s richest clubs and among the few capable of financing a big-money deal for Bellingham. Liverpool – 5/1

Liverpool are regarded as 5/1 favourites to win the race for Bellingham’s signature, in a deal that would almost certainly represent a club record for the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp is believed to be a huge admirer of the 18-year-old and could look to sanction a deal this summer, with Liverpool having shown previously their willingness to both act decisively – and spend – for the right targets.

After several quiet windows of recruitment, the Reds secured the signing of Luis Diaz from Porto last month and midfield now looks to be the focus heading into this summer’s transfer window.

The likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita have failed to convince consistently as the link between the Reds midfield and forward line, a role that the versatile Bellingham could revel in as he looks to break forward and provide the ammunition to the club’s forward options.
