Europe’s best dribblers make the cost of tickets worthwhile, with players who specialise in taking on defenders worth their weight in gold.
Manchester City’s new signing, Savinho, has caught the eye in the Premier League’s early weeks with the Brazilian a box of tricks. The 20-year-old features as we rank the most prolific dribblers in Europe since the start of last season.
The players to complete the most dribbles since the start of 2023/24:
5. Jeremy Doku – Manchester City (103)
Manchester City decided on a different profile of winger last summer after signing Jeremy Doku from Rennes in a £55m deal.
Doku’s debut season saw him rank second for successful take-ons and lead the Premier League for progressive carries and carries into the penalty area. The Belgian can be box-office to watch at his best and equalled a Premier League record with four assists in a single game against Bournemouth last season.
Too smooth 😮💨

4. Matías Soulé (105)
Matias Soule was one of the breakout stars of the Serie A season in 2023/24, as the winger shone on loan at Frosinone. Soule scored 11 league goals and led Italy’s top flight for chances created, through balls, and completed dribbles.
Despite his electric performances, Juventus decided to cash in on the 21-year-old who has signed for AS Roma in a deal worth £27m.
3. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (107)
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has announced his arrival as one of Europe’s best wide players after signing for Napoli.
The Georgian was named Serie A’s Most Valuable Player during Napoli’s drought-breaking title success in 2022/23, after leading the league for assists.
Kvaratskelia led Serie A for fouls drawn and progressive carries last season despite a disappointing defence of the Scudetto from Napoli. His ball-carrying has alerted Europe’s elite and is crucial to the forward threat of the Neapolitan outfit.
2. Savinho (108)
Manchester City have added Savinho to their wide options this summer, pairing the Brazilian with Jeremy Doku in a partnership that is sure to terrify full-backs.
Savinho starred during Girona’s run to Champions League qualification in 2023/24, where he completed over a century of dribbles for the Spanish side in La Liga. His debut in the Premier League provided a glimpse of what he can offer with three completed dribbles in City’s 2-0 win at Chelsea. With the number 26 on his back and fleet-footed playing style, Savinho is eerily similar to ex-Manchester City man Riyad Mahrez.

1. Mohammed Kudus (133)
Europe’s reigning dribble king is West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus. The Ghana international has completed an extraordinary 133 dribbles in the Premier League since his arrival in East London, where his fun-filled style has made Kudus a firm favourite.
The 23-year-old has twisted and turned past defenders with regularity for the Irons, while a solo stunner in last season’s Europa League underlined what he is capable of. Against SC Freiburg in the Round of 16, Kudus charged forward from inside his own half to score a sublime individual effort. Stop him if you can.
