Maxwell’s sensational solo goal for Inter against Parma

If there’s one way to endear yourself to your new supporters it is to open you’re goalscoring account in stunning style, with former Inter Milan full-back Maxwell doing just that during the 2006/07 season.

Having formally become an Inter Milan player during the summer after arriving from Ajax, the Brazilian scored his first goal for the Nerazzurri  with a wonderful solo effort in a 2-0 win over Parma in April 2007.

The defender beats a first defender to the ball near the byline before powering forward in possession, exchanging passes with Hernan Crespo before receiving a pass back from the Argentine on the edge of the area.

Maxwell continues forward into the Parma penalty box, showing nimble footwork to weave beyond three challenges before firing home to open the scoring at the San Siro.

It was a wonderful goal from the left-back who helped Inter extend their unbeaten league run to 29 games as Roberto Mancini’s side closed in on the Serie A title.
