Report: Inter Milan reject Manchester United’s Skriniar bid

Manchester United have been told they will have to increase their bid after seeing an offer for Milan Skriniar rejected by Inter Milan.

Jose Mourinho has targeted defensive reinforcements at United and has identified the Slovakian centre-back as a primary target.

Gazetta dello Sport are reporting that United have made a bid in the region of £53m for his services, with Inter unwilling to sell the 23-year-old at that price.

Skriniar has emerged as one of Serie A’s finest defenders in recent seasons, playing every minute as Inter qualified for the Champions League last season.

The defender’s form has seen him been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs, but as The Football Faithful reported this week, his agent has claimed he is close to signing a new deal at the San Siro.

United are believed to be working on a deal to bring Skriniar to Old Trafford in January, but have been told by Inter they will have to significantly raise their initial offer.
