Chelsea have checked in on the progress of Luka Vuskovic as the club consider another raid on Brighton.
Brighton broke their transfer record to sign Vuskovic from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, snapping up the Croatian centre-back for around £46m. Vuskovic had impressed on loan at Hamburg last season and Spurs’ sale of the defender was a surprise, with Europe’s top teams now monitoring his progress at the Amex Stadium.
The defender has been a big part of Brighton’s impressive start under Fabian Hurzeler, and TEAMtalk claim Chelsea are in the queue of clubs considering a deal. Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also tracking the progress of Vuskovic, whose dominance in the air has earned admirers.
Bayern are considering their options next summer amid doubts over Kim Min-jae and Hiroki Ito, while Barcelona want to sign a long-term partner for Pau Cubarsi.
Vuskovic signed a five-year deal at Brighton and the Seagulls would expect to turn over a sizeable profit on the player.
Chelsea have regularly done business with Brighton in recent windows. Marc Cucurella, Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo, Joao Pedro and Danny Welbeck have all moved from the south coast to West London.
