Manchester United will reportedly announce the signing of Bruno Fernandes after this summer’s Nations League finals.
The Sporting Lisbon star has attracted the interest of some of Europe’s leading clubs after a prolific season in the Portuguese capital, scoring 28 goals from midfield in all competitions.\
Manchester City had also been strongly linked with the 24-year-old, however, according to the Daily Star it is United who look to have won the race for his signature.
According to the report, United want to conclude a deal for the Portugal international before the Nations League concludes on Sunday before announcing the signing next week.
The fee is likely to be in excess of £62m for the former Udinese and Sampdoria player who has scored 31 league goals in 66 appearances since joining Sporting in a €8.5m deal in 2017.
Fernandes started as Portugal reached the Nations League final with a 3-1 victory over Switzerland on Wednesday night. Cristiano Ronaldo hit a hat-trick for the hosts, who will face England or the Netherlands in Sunday’s final.
