Maguire set to snub Man United in favour of Man City

Harry Maguire is set to snub a move to Manchester United in favour of joining rivals Manchester City.

The England international has been subject of interest from both Manchester sides, as they bid to strengthen their defensive options.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to sign an elite centre-back this summer and is believed to have made an enquiry for Maguire, however the 26-year-old is thought to prefer a move to Premier League champions and rivals City.

City are in the market for a new central defender after captain Vincent Kompany’s departure to take over as Anderlecht manager, whilst there are also doubts over the future of Nicolas Otamendi.

According to the Daily Mail, Maguire will opt to move to the Etihad should City be able to agree a fee with Leicester, however, the Foxes are under no pressure to sell and would likely demand a world-record fee for a defender for his services.

Maguire is currently with Gareth Southgate’s England squad, as they prepare to face the Netherlands in the Nations League semi-finals.
