Jurgen Klopp has responded to comments from Franz Beckenbauer revealing his hope that the Liverpool boss would one day manage Bayern Munich.
The Bayern president revealed his admiration for Klopp and said he wants to ‘one day’ see the German in the dugout of the Munich side.
Liverpool want to hand Klopp a new contract following his Champions League success, securing the 51-year-old’s long-term future at the club.
Following Beckenbauer’s public reveal of Bayern’s interest in taking Klopp back to Germany, the Liverpool boss poured cold water on any suggestion he could leave Anfield in the near future.
“I like Franz — and he likes me. But I have a long-term contract at Liverpool,” Klopp told German publication, Bild.
“I would rather he said that than him saying and thinking that I cannot be Bayern manager.
“However, both Bayern and Borussia Dortmund have very good coaches. And what could be in five years or more, I do not know.
“Maybe there will be completely different coaches that qualify.”
