Arsenal have been dealt another major injury blow as Takehiro Tomiyasu has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.ย
The full-back has undergone surgery on the issue plaguing his right knee, which has kept him sidelined for almost the entire season, and will require months of recovery before he can return.
Here’s every Arsenal player currently on the treatment table ahead of this weekend’s Premier League meeting with West Ham United and when they might be back in action.
Latest Arsenal injury news
Bukayo Saka
The England winger has been out since December after tearing his right hamstring against Crystal Palace. He underwent surgery to repair the problem and has been rehabbing it ever since.
Reports earlier this month suggested that Saka had suffered a setback in his recovery, but he partook in gym training on the club’s recent trip to Dubai.
Mikel Arteta last week said it was “too early” for him to return, but he could be back within weeks. “He’s in an early stage of the rehab, so when we get a little bit closer, and he starts to do more demanding stuff and has more load, we will see where he is. There’s no setback; he’s fine,” Arteta said on 14 February.

Gabriel Martinelli
Gabriel Martinelli was forced off in the first half of Arsenal’s defeat to Newcastle on 5 February with a hamstring injury. He could possibly return in March.

Kai Havertz
The German attacker will sit out the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on his hamstring, which he tore trying to block a ball while training in Dubai. Havertz is targeting a return to fitness in the summer.
โThe last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful op and a win,” he posted on social media.
โThanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, itโs really helped. โIโm now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background.โ

Takehiro Tomiyasu
The third of three Arsenal players to have season-ending surgery this year, Tomiyasu has played just six minutes of football this season.
After recovering from a surgical procedure on a knee injury he sustained in pre-season, he came on as a late substitute in the Premier League win over Southampton in October. However, continued issues with his knee forced him to have another operation.
The Gunners say his recovery and rehabilitation is expected to be completed towards the end of 2025.
