Jurgen Klopp says he ‘thanks God’ for having Liverpool’s attacking options at his disposal, after Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane began the new season in fine form for the European champions.
Liverpool’s potent attacking trio have played a crucial role in the club’s winning start to the season, with Klopp’s side sitting top of the Premier League after two fixtures and attaining Uefa Super Cup glory with victory over Chelsea in Istanbul.
Having had the best defensive record in the division last season, Liverpool have looked uncharacteristically shaky at the back in the opening weeks, and Klopp insists he is grateful for his side’s formidable firepower.
“A lot of times in my life I had sensational players always [but] not world-class players,” the German told liverpoolfc.com.
“Now, thank God I have them and they make the difference. We don’t have to talk about that.
“Sadio Mane, Bobby Firmino, Mo Salah – these guys in the last situation are really outstanding.
“They were a constant threat, however tired they are. That’s brilliant and, of course, made the difference. We don’t have to talk about that.”
