Jurgen Klopp is said to be baffled by reports that summer signing Fabinho could be leaving Liverpool in January as a makeweight for Christian Pulisic.
A lot of the latest transfer rumours have surrounded Borussia Dortmund winger Pulisic, who is thought to be a target for a number of top Premier League clubs.
Chelsea are thought to be ready to launch a move for the American in January, while Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a long-standing interest in the 20-year-old, admitting in the summer that he likes the player:
“If he would at one point join us I don’t know. But I like him and it’s not like that could be the problem.
“We respect contracts still and there is no market that I know about in the moment.”
It has been rumoured that the Merseyside club could use summer signing Fabinho as bait to land Pulisic, but according to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp is “baffled” by those reports, with the £40m summer signing from Monaco finally starting to find his feet in at the club.
Klopp has always insisted that it would take a few months for the Brazilian to adapt to English football, and the German manager waited until October to hand him his Premier League debut.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund have also said that they Pulisic will not be sold in the upcoming January transfer market.
