Lothar Matthaus says he is ‘sure’ Manchester City winger Leroy Sane will join Bayern Munich this summer.
The German champions have been linked with a move for Sane this summer, as they look to replace outgoing veterans Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben.
Bayern are believed to be preparing a bid in the region of £70m for the 23-year-old and Matthaus, who won seven Bundesliga titles during two spells with the club, says he is ‘sure’ Sane will be playing his football at the Allianz Arena next season.
Speaking to Sky Sports Germany the former Germany international said: “A player who, in my eyes, will enchant the Bayern fans next year is Leroy Sane. I am sure he will move to Munich.
“If [Bayern president] Uli Hoeness publicly reveals that it makes an effort for the player, this lands in the vast majority of cases in Bavaria…It would be a win-win transfer for all parties.”
