Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea ‘confident’ of Hudson-Odoi extending his contract

Chelsea are reportedly growing increasingly ‘confident’ that Callum Hudson-Odoi will sign a new contract and commit his future to the club.

The England international is entering the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge, with German giants Bayern Munich interested in signing the winger as they seek replacements for outgoing veterans Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Bayern had tried to secure a deal for Hudson-Odoi in January, seeing four bids rejected for the teenager who was keen on a move to the Bundesliga, although the 18-year-old’s hopes of a summer move were damaged after he suffered a ruptured Achilles in April.

While Bayern are thought to remain keen on his signature, the German champions are now monitoring alternatives with the Mirror reporting that Chelsea are ready to capitalise by handing the youngster an improved contract to secure his long-term future.

The report claims that Chelsea are growing increasingly confident that Hudson-Odoi will sign a new deal worth a reported £100,000-a-week, while he could also be handed the number 10 shirt that is expected to be vacated by Eden Hazard.
