Benitez insists Everton are ‘not considering’ Richarlison sale and discusses Kean and James’ futures

Rafael Benitez insists Everton are ‘not considering’ selling Richarlison despite reported transfer interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Richarlison has been speculated as a potential transfer target for PSG as Kylian Mbappe prepares to leave the Parc des Princes from Real Madrid, with reports having suggested the player’s representatives have held negotiations with the Ligue 1 side.

However, speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Brighton, Benitez has discussed the potential departure of the Brazil international and says Everton are not considering his sale before the transfer deadline.

“We are not considering selling him,” said Benitez at his pre-match press conference.

“He is our player, we are really pleased with him and we are happy. Hopefully he can score a lot of goals for us this year.”

Several names have been linked with an exit from Everton before the deadline for deals, with both Moise Kean and James Rodriguez amongst those who could depart.

Kean spent last season on loan at PSG and has been linked with a return to former club Juventus, whilst Rodriguez has reportedly been included in potential discussions to sign Luis Diaz from Porto.

Benitez remained coy on the speculation surrounding the duo, insisting his focus was on this weekend’s clash with Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

“We have some players that people know are good players and they are players people could be talking about.

“There are rumours but as coaches we have to concentrate on what we have. We have our players here, we have an important game against Brighton and we will try to do our best to be sure we are ready.”
