Artistry: Iniesta’s best assists for Barcelona

Andres Iniesta was an integral part of arguably the greatest side club football has witnessed, a prominent figure as Barcelona reigned supreme as Europe’s finest.

Iniesta formed part of an iconic midfield alongside Xavi Hernandez and Sergio Busquets, a trio that passed opposition sides into submission as tika-taka revolutionised the game and the Catalans conquered.

If Xavi and Busquets were the conductors of the side’s rhythm, then Iniesta was the artist of the club’s attacking football, gliding across the turf gracefully and dissecting defences with penetrative passing.

At his finest, he was the footballer’s favourite footballer and perhaps the greatest exponent of the simplistic brilliance of pass and move.

Always open, always available and always capable of making things happen, Iniesta’s career was one of sensational success as he lifted nine league titles and four Champions League trophies with Barcelona.

There have been few footballers, even in a club like Barcelona where no shortage of greats have adorned their colours, who have had such an impact at the Camp Nou.

We’ve look back at some of Iniesta’s most memorable creative moments, here are his best assists for Barcelona.
