Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin as a replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.
Calvert-Lewin is a transfer target for the north Londoners as the club assess centre-forward options, with both Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah expected to leave the Gunners at the end of the season.
The England international has developed into a key figure for Everton and scored 21 goals across all competitions last season, whilst the 24-year-old has netted four goals in 11 appearances at international level.
Everton have reined back the wasteful spending of recent windows and could be tempted with a large offer for Calvert-Lewin, as Rafael Benitez looks to bring in funds to strengthen a struggling squad.
Calvert-Lewin has scored three goals in three appearances for the Toffees this season, but has been absent since mid-September with toe and thigh injuries respectively.
Arsenal’s search for a centre-forward comes amid uncertainty surrounding both Lacazette and Nketiah, each out of contract at the end of the season with extensions appearing unlikely a present.
Lacazette will turn 31 at the end of the season and the Gunners are unwilling to commit to a lengthy contract on the star’s current terms, whilst Nketiah has rejected the chance to sign a new deal as the England u21 international seeks an exit and regular first-team football.
