Manchester City travel to the City Ground looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after back-to-back defeats cost them top spot.
Enzo Maresca’s side lost to Aston Villa and Brighton in their last two league outings, a run that ended a 24-game scoring streak and handed the table lead to Arsenal, though City responded with a 3-2 win at RB Leipzig in midweek thanks to a late Erling Haaland winner. City have not lost three consecutive league matches since 2016, and they have won two of their last four visits to the City Ground since Forest’s promotion in 2022.
Manchester City team news
Maresca is not expected to make wholesale changes to his side, though Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol are strong contenders to return to defence at the expense of Marc Guehi and Nico O’Reilly. Enzo Fernandez, who scored his first Champions League goal for the club in midweek, looks the likeliest midfield partner for Elliot Anderson ahead of Ayoub Bouaddi and Mateo Kovacic.
Haaland, without a goal in his last four appearances against Forest, will lead the line once again and could be supported by Iliman Ndiaye, Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku, the latter of whom began the Leipzig win as a substitute. City have conceded 14 goals in their last seven matches across all competitions, a defensive record Forest will look to exploit.
Manchester City predicted lineup
Manchester City possible starting XI (4-2-3-1): Donnarumma; Nunes, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol; Anderson, Fernandez; Ndiaye, Cherki, Doku; Haaland
