Carlo Ancelotti admitted he was pleased with his side’s display after Everton secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Brighton at Goodison Park.
Everton bounced back from their FA Cup exit at the hands of Merseyside rivals Liverpool with a precious three points against Graham Potter’s Seagulls, Richarlison scoring the only goal of the game with a fine piece of individual skill.
The Brazilian’s opener was well deserved following the Toffees’ dominant first-half display, and despite failing to add to their lead held on for a victory that lifts the club to 11th in the Premier League.
Following the clash Ancelotti admitted he was pleased with aspects of his side’s showing, the Italian insisting he was ‘quite happy’ following a clean sheet and three valuable points.
“Quite happy. For 60 minutes the performance was good, at the end it was normal to suffer a little bit at 1-0 up,” Ancelotti told BBC’s MOTD.
“We suffered but we were determined to have three points at the end and this is the most important thing.”
“The response of the players was good.
”The support of the stadium is really important for us.
”When we play here we want to feel at home and I hope the next game will be the same because it is really important.”
