Simon Mignolet is still hoping to secure a move away from Liverpool this summer, despite Jurgen Klopp insisting the goalkeeper will remain at the club.
The Belgian international is keen to leave Anfield after six seasons on Merseyside, having spent the majority of the past two seasons as back-up to Loris Karius and then Alisson.
The 31-year-old has been linked with moves to Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, though Klopp recently said that he believes the goalkeeper would be remaining at Liverpool ahead of the new campaign.
Despite Klopp’s admission Mignolet’s agent, Nico Vaesen, says the former Sunderland star is still keen to leave the club this summer having made just two appearances last season, and they are waiting for the ‘goalkeeper game of musical chairs’ to begin.
“The goalkeeper game of musical chairs hasn’t started yet. It’s important for Simon to play somewhere, and our goal is still to make him leave,” he told DH.
“He’s still got a lot to offer, and if we have an offer, we’re counting on Liverpool making an effort.”
