Chelsea attacker Willian reckons his side deserved more from their thrilling clash with Man City at the Etihad yesterday, with Pep Guardiola’s side eventually emerging with a 2-1 victory after a pulsating affair.
Chelsea dominated the game for long periods and fully deserved to take the lead through N’Golo Kante, only to see strikes from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez condemn the Blues to their first away defeat since their opening day loss against Manchester United.
In fact, Frank Lampard’s side were the first side ever to have more possession than a team managed by Pep Guardiola, and Willian felt his sides display throughout the 90 minutes warranted a better result.
“I think it was a great game,” Willian told chelseafc.com.

“Before we conceded a goal we were in total control of the game. We were confident and I thought we played well the whole game.
“We created some chances and we could have scored two or three goals but we know it is always difficult to play here against City, they have a great team so I think we have to stay with our heads up and move on to the next one.”
One of the main reasons for Chelsea’s dominance at times, was the superb performance of their midfield, with Willian picking out French powerhouse Kante for special praise.
“He played well. He was in control in midfield with Jorginho and Kovacic,” the Brazilian added.
“They all played well and I think we deserved a better result but City have a very strong team.
“Now we need to carry on and forget this game and move on to the next on.”
