Rose says it’s ‘vital’ that Spurs keep Eriksen

Danny Rose says it is ‘vital’ that Tottenham keep hold of midfielder Christian Eriksen.

The Danish international is yet to agree terms on a new deal at the club and has attracted the interest of Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old scored the winner as Spurs beat Brighton 1-0 on Tuesday night, and following the win, Mauricio Pochettino said that Eriksen is ‘open’ to extending his stay in North London.

Eriksen’s current deal expires at the end of next season, and teammate Rose believes the club need to do all they can to keep hold of the playmaker.

“It’s obviously vital,” Rose said.

“If you look over the five years that the manager’s been here, Christian has played the most games and that says a lot.

“When Christian doesn’t play, there are questions that we don’t look the same. He links everything up for us.

“The lads in the changing room trust the people upstairs to hopefully get him to sign.”
