Thomas Lemar is widely reported to be one of the main interests for Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
At just £25 million, the exciting winger would be a bargain, especially with fellow Monaco teammate Kylian Mbappe being subject to record-breaking transfer fee offers.
The 21-year-old had a sensational season for the French club. He made 55 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and gaining 17 assists. Tottenham felt the full effect of Lemar’s goalscoring prowess as he scored against Spurs both home and away in their Champions League group stage meetings. His performances have even earned him two international caps for France in recent months.
The winger fits Tottenham’s squad well at just 21-years of age, where he’d fit in alongside Tottenham’s young star players Dele Alli, 21, and Harry Kane, 23.
Mauricio Pochettino would like to boost the depth of his squad, with Spurs set to play a lot of games next season after finishing in a Champions League place, and improve on the underwhelming signings Moussa Sissoko and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou who have failed to make a large impact off the bench this season.
Thomas Lemar is said to be one of his top targets to do just that, and with a low asking price, Tottenham won’t have to bust the bank to acquire the young Frenchman.
As ever, Tottenham face competition for Lemar, with rivals Arsenal said to be interested, as well as Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
With Bernardo Silva already at Man City, and Benjamin Mendy set to follow, as well as speculation surrounding Bakayoko, Fabinho and Mbappe, will Lemar be the next AS Monaco player to depart the French Ligue 1?
