Arsenal are eyeing up a move for one of Monaco’s brightest talents this summer, as Arsene Wenger wants to sign Thomas Lemar.
Monaco have become one of the most exciting teams in Europe, and some of the Worlds top clubs are eyeing up their players. Kylian Mbappe is the leading light in the side with a potential world record move on the cards.
Tiemoue Bakayoko, Bernardo Silva, Fabinho and Benjamin Mendy are also attracting plenty of admirers after their run to the Champions League semi-finals which was ended this week with a 4-1 aggregate defeat to Juventus.
However, according to the Daily Mirror, Arsene Wenger is now believed to be interested in signing 21-year old midfielder Thomas Lemar. Lemar has been heavily involved in the club’s success this season, scoring 14 goals in 52 appearances.
A magical season for Monaco
As well as a run to the Champions League semi-finals, Monaco are also on course to win their first Ligue 1 title since 1999/2000.
They are three points clear with a game in hand, and a far superior goal difference over reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain with just three games to go. Monaco host mid table Lille, whilst PSG travel 7th placed St Etienne. If Monaco win their game, the title will be all but sealed, and if they better PSG’s result, it will be guaranteed.
Wenger has also admitted that he was close to signing Kylian Mbappe.
