Mason Mount has praised Frank Lampard and says ‘there is nobody better to learn from’ than the Chelsea manager.
The highly-rated youngster has been called up to the senior England side after impressing since being handed an opportunity by Lampard at Stamford Bridge, the 20-year-old having scored twice in four league appearances for the Chelsea this season.
Mount has discussed Lampard’s impact on his own game as says the former Blues’ midfielder – the club’s all-time record goalscorer, is the perfect man to learn from as he bids to establish himself at the highest level.
“After training we do some finishing sometimes, talking to him every day especially after games on what I can do better and where I can make runs to get into the box,” Mount said at a press conference on international duty.
“I am always speaking to him and trying to learn every day, but mostly after training doing finishing. There is no better person to learn from than him.
“Having one or two chats with him (about the call up), he said it’s obviously such a proud moment playing for your country, just go and enjoy it.
“It’s such an exciting time in English football and he just said go there and enjoy playing football for England.”
