The Premier League teams with the most set-piece goals this season

Arsenal underlined their reputation as set-piece specialists again this week after beating Manchester United at the Emirates.

Practice has become perfect for the North Londoners, whose training ground routines led to both goals in their 2-0 win. With a mix of dangerous delivery and formidable aerial targets, set-pieces have become a huge part of the armoury for the Gunners in recent campaigns.

Following their latest success from set-pieces, we’ve ranked the Premier League teams with the most set-piece goals scored this season – excluding penalties.

The Premier League teams with the most set-piece goals in 2024/25.

Manchester United – 5

Manchester United have scored five goals from set-pieces during the Premier League season to date. After a poor record with attacking set-pieces, there have been signs of improvement of late, including a training ground routine that saw Marcus Rashford volley home a Bruno Fernandes corner against Everton at the weekend.

However, improvement is required in their own box. Only Wolves (11) and Southampton (8) have conceded more set-piece goals (6).

Chelsea – 5

Chelsea have also scored five times from set-pieces, including Axel Disasi’s header from a corner kick in Wednesday’s win at Southampton. The best of the bunch, however, was Cole Palmer’s majestic free-kick against Brighton in September. What a way to seal a first-half hat-trick.

Nottingham Forest – 5

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are among the most improved teams in the Premier League this season with Forest flying high in sixth place as things stand. Boasting a resolute rearguard and improved options in the final third, Forest have become tough to beat.

One area that has been improved is set-pieces. Having scored just seven set-piece goals all season last term, Forest have five from 14 games played in 2024/25.

Defensively, they’re also better. No team conceded more set-piece goals than Forest (22) last season. However, their goal has been breached just twice from set-pieces so far this time around. The summer signing of the towering Nikola Milenkovic has contributed to that record.

Everton – 6

Sean Dyche often drills the fundamentals into Everton and set-piece prowess is a big part of the game plan. Last season, Everton ranked second in the Premier League for set-piece goals scored (19), behind only Arsenal. The Toffees scored more goals from set-pieces than they did from open play in 2023/24.

Dyche’s side rank joint-second for set-piece goals this season, with six scored.

Aston Villa – 6

Aston Villa sit alongside Everton in second place after scoring six times from set-pieces so far this season.

Such has been their reliance on set-pieces for chance creation, only Nottingham Forest (33.2%) have generated a higher proportion of their expected goals total from set-pieces in the Premier League than Villa (32.3%).

Arsenal – 7

It comes as little surprise to see Arsenal leading from the front after a week in which their set pieces undid West Ham and Manchester United in consecutive games.

Even in the absence of the usual target, Gabriel, Arsenal scored twice from set-pieces against Manchester United with Jurrien Timber and William Saliba the beneficiaries in the box. With innovative routines, excellent takers, and a wealth of man-mountains to aim for, Arsenal’s set pieces have become one of the biggest weapons in the Premier League.

Arsenal had more shots from corners (7) than they did from open play (6) against Manchester United.
