The full-time whistle has blown on the campaign for European football’s top leagues, following a 2023-24 campaign full of unforgettable narratives.
It’s been a season to remember for several of Europe’s biggest names, but which teams produced the most impressive league campaigns?
We’ve ranked the five teams with the highest points totals in Europe’s top five leagues in 2023-24.
5. Arsenal – 89 points
Arsenal ended the season as runners-up in the Premier League, despite a record-breaking campaign for the Gunners. Mikel Arteta’s team won 28 games in 2023-24, a club recordin the Premier League, eclipsing even the title-winning Invincible side of 2003-04.
The North Londoners have made huge strides under Arteta’s management, contending for the Premier League title after six straight seasons outside the division’s top four. The task now will be to take the next step and end Manchester City’s stranglehold on English football.
Arsenal came up short of winning the league, but set all kinds of personal bests this campaign:
▫️ Club-record for league wins (28)
▫️ Highest win percentage in all competitions (67.3%)
▫️ Best start to a calendar year (2024—8 wins)

4. Bayer Leverkusen – 90 points
Bayer Leverkusen have shed their ‘Neverkusen’ tag emphatically this season to win the Bundesliga for the first time in their 120-year history.
Leverkusen have not just ended Bayern Munich’s dominant reign but ripped the title from the Bavarian behemoth.
Under the management of Xabi Alonso, Leverkusen became the first team in German football history to complete a Bundesliga campaign without losing and just the third team in Europe’s top five leagues to do so this century, after Arsenal (2003-04) and Juventus (2011-12).
