Stoke are eyeing a move for Burnley’s Joe Hart as a potential replacement for Jack Butland.
England international Butland is expected to leave the club this summer and return to the Premier League, with Aston Villa linked with a £20m move for the 26-year-old as they look to strengthen their squad after winning promotion last season.
According to the Sun, Stoke will target former England number one Hart as a replacement should Butland leave the club.
Hart joined Burnley in a £3.5m deal from Manchester City last summer, however the 32-year-old lost his place in Sean Dyche’s side last season after Tom Heaton’s return from injury.
With one-cap England international Nick Pope also on the books at Turf Moor, Hart could be allowed to leave the club this summer as he seeks more regular first-team football.
Capped 75 times for England, Hart would represent an experienced addition to Nathan Jones’ squad as he bids to build a side capable of challenging for promotion.
