Spurs squad fuming with Pochettino after ‘different agendas’ comment

Tottenham’s stars are reportedly furious with manager Mauricio Pochettino for claiming the squad have ‘different agendas’ following the club’s humiliating exit from the Carabao Cup.

Spurs were eliminated from the competition by League Two Colchester in midweek, with Pochettino now facing a backlash from his squad following his post-match comments.

The club have endured a difficult start to the new season and the Spurs boss has called for unity, though according to the Sun, the Argentine is said to have upset members of his squad for suggesting some of his players have differing ‘agendas’.

Spurs start to the new season has been unsettled by speculation surrounding the futures of several stars. Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen have all entered the final years of their contracts at the club, whilst England international Danny Rose has remained despite seemingly being on the verge of a summer exit.

Despite the ongoing contract situations, the report suggests the Spurs players have no issue with the current contract stalemates, in particular, the case of Eriksen who has been open and honest about his desire to leave the club.

The report also suggests a growing number of Spurs players are beginning to question Pochettino’s commitment and believe he will leave at the first opportunity, with Manchester United said to be his preferred destination.
