Graeme Souness reckons Manchester United’s signing of Harry Maguire could see them get back into the top four.
After what seemed like an eternity, Premier League football is almost back, with Liverpool getting the 2019/20 season underway on Friday night against newly-promoted Norwich.
As always at this time of the season, pundits and fans alike start to dish out their predictions for the upcoming campaign, and former Scotland international Graeme Souness has given his verdict on the top four.
The ex-Liverpool midfielder thinks that Man City will win a third consecutive title, with his former side once again finishing in second, while tipping Manchester United to squeeze back into the top four at the expense of Arsenal and Chelsea.
“I still think, even though Maguire will make them better, it doesn’t make them good enough to challenge at the top,” Souness said when asked about United’s £80 million man.
“I see it being between the big two again [champions Manchester City and runners-up Liverpool. The nearest challengers will be Tottenham – and after that United. Neither Arsenal or Chelsea are good enough.”
