Soumare wants Liverpool or Manchester United move after snubbing Newcastle switch

Boubakary Soumare is said to be keen on a move to either Liverpool or Manchester United after snubbing an approach from Newcastle during the January transfer window.

The Lille midfielder has attracted plenty of attention from across Europe following his performances for the French side so far his season, with a host of Premier League sides believed to be monitoring the youngster’s progress in recent months.

Newcastle thought they had a deal in place to secure his signing after agreeing a fee of £35m during the winter window, though Soumare opted to remain with the Ligue 1 side for the remainder of the season.

The Magpies had arranged for a private jet to take the defensive midfielder to Tyneside ahead of a potential switch to St James’ Park last month, though the move would fall through as Soumare rejected the club’s advances.

According to Le10 Sportthe 20-year-old is keen to secure a move to either Liverpool or Manchester United at the end of the season, both sides having watched the highly-rated prospect with interest of late.

Chelsea and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on Soumare ahead of a potential move at the end of the season, though a move to the North West seems to be his priority at this stage.
