Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has admitted he is likely to make widespread changes to his starting lineup when Wolves visit Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Blues are still competing on two fronts, having beaten Dynamo Kiev 3-0 in their Europa League Round of 16 first leg on Thursday, and Sarri insists he will utilise his squad’s depth for Sunday’s clash.
Chelsea are currently just two points off the Premier League’s top four, having played a game fewer than the side’s above them, and Sarri says he could make up to seven changes for the visit of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
‘Of course in this moment it’s very difficult to arrive to every match with the same level of determination, mentally and physically at 100 per cent, but for the next match we can change six or seven players,’’ Sarri told chelseafc.com.
‘On Thursday we changed six or seven players. Jorginho played only 50 minutes, Kante only 40 minutes, Barkley 60, no more. These three players will be able to play the next match. Of course in this moment it’s a problem for every English team involved in European competition.’
